Elaborate handwriting, including lots of
\nembellishment such as unnecessary loops,
\ncurves, spirals, underlining, circles, wavy lines,
\nand other forms is an important, and telling,
\nhandwriting analysis consideration.<\/p>\n
Handwriting analysis, or graphology, is so
\ninformative because it reveals subconscious
\ncharacter, the real personality, not just the
\npersona and the one seen when a person is
\nat his or her best.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Library of Congress classifies
\ngraphology as a branch of psychology.<\/p>\n
All in all, there are over 300 handwriting traits
\nto consider when doing an analysis. Some of the
\nmore obvious ones include the following:
\nconnectives; connectivity; consistency;
\ncontradictions in script; compression;
\ncontraction\/expansiveness; down-strokes;
\nelaboration; expansion; finals; fluidity; form;
\nharmony; hooks; jabs; knots; lead-ins; legibility;
\nloops; margins; movement; organization;
\noriginality; pressure; retracing; rhythm; shading;
\nsignature compared to the rest of script;
\nsimplicity; size; slant; overall arrangement
\nand picture of space; letter, word and line
\nspacing; speed; spirals; tension; ties;
\nzonal balance and much more.<\/p>\n
Does any single consideration, such as the
\nexcessive elaboration, override the cumulative
\nstrength of the collective body of other
\nconsiderations? No.<\/p>\n
The collective body of traits in a handwriting
\nsample either supports or mitigates the energy of
\nany one individual aspect.<\/p>\n
Also, in order for a specific graphology trait to
\naccurately reflect personality, it must be
\nthroughout the handwriting sample at least
\nthree to four times to qualify.<\/p>\n
Accuracy in graphology demands that the context
\nof the entire writing sample be considered and that
\nall individual aspects and parts of the script must
\nbe interpreted independently and then built into a
\ncomplete picture describing the personality.<\/p>\n
Also, you need at least a half page of cursive
\nhandwriting and not just a signature if you want
\nto start on the right track.<\/p>\n
For the highest level of accuracy in handwriting
\nanalysis, formal graphology training is recommended.

Copybook form, or “perfect handwriting,” varies
\nsomewhat from country to country and it’s best
\nto be familiar with the standard copybook form of
\nthe country in which the person learned to write.<\/p>\n
It’s good if your handwriting is not perfect, because
\nyou don’t want perfect handwriting. It’s natural to
\ngradually move away from the basic copybook
\nform you learned in grade school to develop your
\nown unique style.<\/p>\n
Just as everyone has a unique personality, everyone
\nhas unique handwriting. Aristotle remarked,
\n“Spoken words are the symbols of mental experience
\nand written words are the symbols of spoken words.
\nJust as all men do not have the same speech sounds, so
\ndo all men not have the same writing.”<\/p>\n
Adults who write in copybook form (considering
\nthere is corroborating energy from the rest of the
\nhandwriting considerations) strive to follow all rules
\nexactly and abide by all laws. They are usually
\nconformists, traditional, and inhibited. They
\ncommonly carry guilt and repression is customary.
\nHence, “perfect” handwriting is far from perfect.<\/p>\n
If your handwriting has a lot of originality with high
\nform level (good balance, movement, harmony, etc.)
\nand other positive traits, it could indicate flexibility,
\nresourcefulness, confidence, inward motivation, and
\npossible leadership skills.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, if you see originality in an
\noff-balanced, inharmonious script (low form level),
\nyou could find rebelliousness, defiance, turmoil,
\nconfusion, dishonesty, and even psychosis
\nor criminal-minded behavior.<\/p>\n
Spirals are generally a negative sign relating,
\nin part, to deception or self-deception.<\/p>\n
Normal elaboration includes longer than usual
\nt-bars and finals at the end of words, for example.<\/p>\n
Excessive elaboration, such as artificial flourishes,
\nmany added strokes, long lower zone length (loops
\nof letters such as lower case g and j), etc. could
\nindicate an ostentatious personality with a need to
\nimpress others, a need for drama, flirtatiousness,
\nvanity, exaggeration, bluff, a mind too rooted in
\nfantasy, insincerity, a need to be told they are
\nloved, fa\u00c3\u00a7ade of intrigue to mask an inferiority
\ncomplex, possible deception, scattered energy,
\naffectation, defense for self-consciousness,
\nunstable self image, too much focus on
\ntrivial matters, and difficulty concentrating.<\/p>\n
As the level of inharmoniousness increases with
\nexcessive elaboration, the negative traits listed
\nabove will also intensify.<\/p>\n
If you see excessive elaboration mainly in the
\nupper zone (e.g., where the t’s are crossed), which
\nis the zone of the intellect, you may find someone
\nwhose thinking is ruled by illusion, and even
\nsomeone who is a compulsive liar.<\/p>\n
But remember, although it’s alluded to above, it’s
\nimportant enough to say again: no single graphology
\nindicator, by itself, absolutely describes any one
\npersonality trait.<\/p>\n
Yes, straight-across, blunt ending strokes can
\nindicate cautiousness, but there could be ten or
\nmore other indicators in a person’s script that
\nwould mitigate the notion.<\/p>\n
If you find elaboration that is excessively
\ncomplicated, especially with many complicated
\ncircle letters, such as a and o, it could point toward
\nsomeone who is trying to hide something, even if
\nit’s on an unconscious level and not in an
\nintentionally deceptive way.<\/p>\n
Look to the zone of handwriting for more clues to
\nwhat the excessive elaboration with inharmonious
\nhandwriting indicates: in the lower zone (where the
\nloops of letters such as g and j reside) it’s an
\nimbalance relating to sexuality, social life, materialism,
\nand physical energy, among others; in the middle
\nzone (where letters such as n, m, and o reside) it’s an
\nimbalance in practicality, daily routine, here-and-
\nnow, ego, consciousness and more; and in the upper
\nzone (where the t-bar, tops of t’s, and h’s reside) it’s
\nan imbalance in mental, intellectual, philosophical,
\nliterary interests, the imagination, and more.<\/p>\n
When you see a Hollywood star’s signature
\nthat has over-the-top elaboration, if the rest of his
\nor her script is much more subdued, it’s a sign of
\npretentiousness.<\/p>\n
Alternatively, elaboration with positive indicators
\nis favorable. With harmonious handwriting it can
\nsymbolize charm, healthy imagination, and
\noriginality.<\/p>\n
